Just about all of us at some point in our lives, whether we knew it or not, have had a case of food poisoning. The Centers for Disease Control estimates each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans or 48 million people get sick from food poisoning, with 128,000 sick enough to be hospitalized and 3,000 who will die.
