Yoga is a must for better sex
/For some of you it may be difficult enough just to touch your toes let alone get into a downward facing dog position. But if you want your sex life to take off without the use of medications, sex toys, or pornography, consider yoga.
Yoga, around for over 5,000 years, has to be just about the oldest form of exercise still practiced around the world. This total body workout not only burns calories, tones and stretches muscles, and enhances deep breathing it also gives the added advantage of creating a sense of well-being and relaxation. Yoga is really the total package as far as providing all the components necessary for not just good sex, but great sex. Here’s why:
· Yoga reduces stress and anxiety
Nothing is a bigger sex stopper than one partner who is feeling overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. If the stress is ongoing, it will contribute to sex problems with sex problems contributing to stress – a vicious cycle.
Practicing yoga regularly can relieve the feelings of being stressed-out by reducing the stress hormone cortisol. When cortisol is lowered, this elevates a person’s mood making them more likely to want to engage in sex.
Deep relaxation is crucial for passionate lovemaking and yoga elevates this to a new high. The relaxation helps concentrate blood to the genitals causing the arteries to carry blood into the genitals with extra blood flowing into the penis producing an erection and for women, extra blood rushing to the vaginal region helping with lubrication and increased clitoral sensitivity.
· Improved arterial blood flow
Several studies have shown yoga may be one of the best ways to reduce the risk of heart disease by improving arterial blood flow. Those who practice the ancient art of yoga along with eating a heart healthy diet tend to have less damage to the arteries with more blood flow to the genitals. When the cardiovascular system is healthy, enhanced sexual function is also improved.
· Reduces premature ejaculation
Yoga has been shown to have significant results on reducing the very common male condition of premature ejaculation. Researchers have found that a daily one-hour session of yoga can results in vast improvements on controlling premature ejaculation. The advantages yoga has it that it is a feasible, safe, effective and acceptable nonpharmacological option for this condition.
· Makes you more flexible
If you fail to stretch your body on a frequent basis, you can expect it to become as taunt and tight as a rope which is not exactly conducive to great sex. The more flexible you are, think of all the various sex positions you can try out without hurting yourself. Yoga that focuses on opening up the hips, pelvis and groin allows deeper penetration during intercourse and better, more creative moves in bed.
· Intensifies orgasms
During an orgasm, rapid contractions of the pelvic floor muscles are involved in this pleasurable process. Having strong muscles in this area is vital to achieving and experiencing mind-blowing orgasms.
Traditionally Kegel exercises are recommended to keep the pelvic floor muscles in tip top shape. But yoga can also do a very effective job, similar to Kegels, helping increase stamina and circulation to this region of the body while strengthening the pelvic floor.
