Hitting the Gym Improves Sex Life

We already know that sex counts as exercise, (well technically), and can help keep us healthy.  But is there an inverse relationship?  Can exercise help us have better sex? The short answer is YES!   Exercising improves self-image, helps you manage your weight, and increases energy.  All these factors are also important for a healthy libido.

1. Boosts Blood Flow: The more you exercise, the more blood flows through your body and the healthier your arteries. More blood flow also means to your sex organs. For women, this mean greater sensitivity, and for men, blood flow is linked to a stronger erection.

2. Boosts Testosterone: Weight training can help pump up testosterone levels, the male sex hormone. Research has found that men’s testosterone levels were highest up to 2 days after they lifted weights.

3. Lowers risk of erectile dysfunction: Probably linked to increased blood flow and testosterone levels, men those who exercise vigorously even for as little as 20 minutes per day less likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction when compared to men leading sedentary lifestyles.

4. Improves Stamina: Simply - the better shape you’re in, the longer you’ll last in bed.

5. Improves flexibility: Lengthening and strengthening exercises can help improve your flexibility, making you more limber in the bedroom. The more flexible you are, the more you can do!

6.  Can increase sexual desire and satisfaction: Exercise can help clear a stressed, wandering mind. This is especially important for women, whose emotions play such a large part in sexual desire and climax.

7. Increases confidence: Exercise help you look and feel good.  This boost in self-image and confidence carries over to sex.

How are some of your favorite exercises making you better in bed?

Cardio: Cardiovascular exercise, like running, can get the heart racing and increase blood flow to your nether parts.  If both partners are getting their cardio in, could mean double the desire and pleasure.

Strength training: Strength, or weight, training increases levels of growth hormone, and subsequently testosterone.  Testosterone in turn is tied to sexual arousal.  Strength training it follows then will make you desire your partner more, plus improve sexual performance.

Yoga:  An added benefit to yoga, besides its focus on core strength, is its meditative aspect. Focusing your mind and de-stressing, can improve your sex life by helping relive anxiety and stress associated with every day worries.   Additionally improved flexibility can help boost creativity in the bedroom.
