The Prostate Cancer Center is equipped with the latest technology and medical equipment so you can be sure you are receiving the best possible care. Thanks to an experienced surgical team (to date, 5000 surgeries strong!), not only is the prostate cancer cure rate 97% in our patients, but 85% regain sexual function post-prostatectomy.  With our dedicated staff, your care will begin from the first moment you speak with someone about your diagnosis, continue throughout your path to a cure and far after your treatment. Our staff prides themselves on fast, friendly and efficient service, which means you, the patient, will not spend your time waiting for care, but rather receiving it.

About Prostate Cancer:

Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor that forms in the prostate gland of the male reproductive system.  It is one of the most common types of cancer diagnosed in American men, over the age of 50.  More than 200,000 new cases are diagnosed each year in the United States.  The main function of the prostate is to produce semen, which transports sperm during ejaculation.  Normally, the prostate is small, about the size and shape of a walnut.  The prostate gland is located below the bladder, encircles the urethra, and is in front of the rectum.

Treatment:

Robotic Prostatectomy:

Robotic Prostatectomy is the latest in minimally invasive surgery, offering the most recent advances in robotics and computer technology for a patient with prostate cancer.  This method is preferred over others because it has the most important advantages for the patient.  Benefits include:

  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Key-hole incisions
  • Little pain
  • Low risk of bleeding and infection
  • Quick healing
  • Small scars
  • Minimal risk of becoming impotent or incontinent
  • 3D view
  • 10x magnification
  • No need for tactile feedback

This system allows surgeons to be even more precise when removing the cancerous prostate gland in its entirety. Other treatment options include traditional radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

About the Team:

Dr. David B. Samadi is a board-certified urologist and a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of urologic diseases, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, and prostate cancer.  Dr. Samadi has personally performed over 5,000 robotic radical prostatectomies using the latest Da Vinci robots, which is more than any other surgeon in the USA.   Dr. Samadi, his operative team and office team have worked together for the past 10 years; there is a sense of family here which cannot be mistaken.  Likewise, each patient becomes part of the family, and curing you from this silent killer known as prostate cancer is a personal fight we will continue fighting.
