Best Moves to Tone Your Legs and Butt

We're always looking for ways to boost our workout. Are you longing for the days when every time you worked out, you felt fresh and rejuvenated? Exercise is incredibly important for our overall health and losing weight If you're at the point when exercise is part of your daily routine (good for you!), but feeling like you're not getting the maximum benefits out of your workout? Or are you really want to tone those legs and butt area? Here are 4 tips to tone up these areas.

1. Integrate strength training and cardio: This is perhaps the most important tip. These don't always have to be separate. Try interval training and mixing up your routine by inserting a strength exercise in between 10 minute intervals of running on the treadmill or the elliptical. Even add a cardio interval in between lifting weights such as jumping rope or 30 second sprints will boost your metabolism and still build up strength.

2. Knee Tuck Jumps: Your feet should be at hip width and parallel as you stand. Deeply bend both knees, shifting the hips back and then lower down until your thighs are close to parallel with the floor. Swing arms back by your sides. Jump off the ground, which drives knees towards the chest. Land softly with your knees bent. Repeat this movement and be sure to be explosive when you come off the ground. Keep your chest up and core engaged the entire time.

3. Squat Jumps: Most people find these to be somewhat difficult but they really work. Again, stand with your feet at hip-width and parallel. Bend both knees and shift hips back and lower down until thighs are parallel with the ground. Stay low and jump off the ground but just a few inches. Land with your knees bent and repeat the movement.

4. Focus all your weight on your right foot. From there deeply bend your right knee, shift hips back and drive off the ball of your right foot. Jump as far as you can to the left and land with knees bent and chest up. Repeat the movement and jump as far as possible to the right, covering as much distance as possible.
