How to stop premature ejaculation
/There's no doubt sexual performance is a taboo, nay embarrassing, topic to talk about. But premature ejaculation is one of the most common sexual problem facing younger men, under 40. There are a wide array of causes, and premature ejaculation doesn't necessarily come from a physical insufficiency as some men might think.
There are both physical and emotional causes of this condition, and as such a significant amount of cases can be helped through simple methods which look to primarily improve muscle tone, encourage meditation, and use small tricks to day ejaculation. Sometimes, all that is needed is slight change in the "how" of sex. Let's look at some ways to manage premature enjaculation:
Take deep breaths
Breathing deeply is one of the simplest forms of meditative practice. The sheer act of deep breathing can help control arousal, and sexual tension that will lead to an early climax. Alternatively, shallow and short breathing (the kind that sounds like rigorous exercise) can increase the heart rate. For some men this increase in heart rate can trigger climax and ejaculation. Long, deep breaths and slowing down the heart rate can be beneficial in extending the length of time between start and finish.
The Stop-and-Start Method
Starting sexual activity and then stopping before orgasm can help extend the time it takes to ejaculation. The act of building up and the taking a break and relaxing, then starting over can help avoid premature ejaculation and extend the overall sexual experienced with your partner. Each start and stop will bring the couple closer to climax, but will likely be more satisfactory as it is more drawn out.
Kegel Exercises
You might think that Kegels are just for pregnant women, but the truth is that these pelvic strengthening exercises can help control ejaculation as well. Kegels strengthen what is known as the pubococcygeus muscle, which is responsible for clenching in the pelvic muscle that stops and starts urine flow. As urine flow and ejaculation are both occurring through the urethra, clenching and control of this pubococcygeus muscle can help with climax control and perhaps extend the sex by being able to restrain early ejaculation.
Benzocaine Condoms
This may not work for everyone, but climax-control condoms are on the market for one reason - to delay ejaculaion. Some men using them may not consider themselves as premature ejaculators, but there’s no shame in wanting to extend the pleasure of sex for yourself and your partner. These condoms have benzocaine, a mild anesthetic in the tip. What this does is create a numbing effect to decrease the intense sensation of sex, and make controlling climax more manageable.
Promescent
This topical medication was recently approved by the FDA to treat premature ejaculation. It is applied to the penis up to 10 minutes before sex, and like the benzocaine condoms, desensitizes the penis. Being desensitized to sexual activity which will typically trigger a more robust response, can allow a man to last longer than when not on the medication. Promescent is absorbed through the skin and where the nerve endings that control ejaculation are located. Sex can still be felt, and this way both partners can enjoy the benefits of sex without having to cut it short.
