Why Morning Sex Is A Healthy Habit

Nothing beats a romp in the hay first thing in the morning.  Sexual activity at the crack of dawn can be a healthy kick start to your day setting the tone of how the next 24 hours will go.  And what a way to rise and shine starting off with an orgasm leaving you feeling relaxed and ready to get the day going.

No matter if you or your partner initiates the early morning sexual interlude, once the juices get to flowing, the health benefits follow.  Here is why making morning sex a regular habit can be one of the best health routines to practice and enjoy:

·         You’ll be happier

Think about it.  If you never or hardly ever have morning sex you might not have much to want to wake up for.  By having sex first thing in the morning, once you’re done, you’re already wide awake and feeling energized to tackle the day head on.  You’re probably be humming a happy tune and feeling the love which always puts us in a better frame of mind.

·         You’re immune system is strengthened

Sex is like a shot of adrenaline boosting our immune system health to new heights.  We benefit by being better able to dodge the flu bug or to keep from catching a cold.  Morning sex enhances your levels of IgA, an antibody that protects against infection.  IgA is present in the body in the secretion of the mucosal surfaces including tears, saliva, colostrum, genital, respiratory and gastrointestinal secretions.

The IgA antibodies in the secretions play a major role in protecting us from infections in these areas.

·         Your hair and skin will look great

A sexual escapade first thing in the morning releases chemicals boosting levels of the hormones estrogen and testosterone improving the tone and texture of your hair and skin giving you a healthy glow.  When levels of estrogen and testosterone are increased during sex, it can keep you looking years younger simply be being frisky in the wee hours of the day.

In fact, a study done at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland found that couples having sex regularly (about four times a week) were viewed as seven to 12 years younger than their actual age.

·         Helps you to relax

Got a deadline to meet? Have morning sex.  Have a job interview? Have morning sex.  Getting it on at the start of the day has a tendency to calm your jitters over whatever you may be feeling anxious about for the day ahead. Even engaging in a quickie culminating in the throes of a passionate orgasm can make your troubles melt away along with giving you the confidence you need.

·         Men, take advantage of your early morning erection

There’s the saying “never let an erection go to waste” and it certainly applies to an early morning erection.  When a man’s penis wakes him up at the crack of dawn, it’s a healthy and normal sign of vigorous blood levels of testosterone. This barometer of a man’s physiological fitness indicates he has strong blood flow to his penis and a good chance his blood vessels are elastic and obstruction free.

Women, take note - when a man sleeps the testosterone he will use for the day accumulates. When he presses up against you as the sun rises and you feel how rock hard he is, morning sex is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of when his testosterone levels are at their peak.

·         Start your day with the feel-good hormones circulating in you

Sex releases all kinds of good stuff inside you activating pleasure centers in your brain. No wonder we want to do it over and over again.  One such hormone is prolactin.  Prolactin rises sharply after an orgasm.  You may find that after sex your mind is flooded with all the things you want to accomplish that day – that is due to prolactin.

Oxytocin is another hormone secreted by the pituitary gland which stimulates the prostate, causes muscle contractions and sensitizes nerves.  It’s also the one that makes us feel those oh-so-good intense orgasms.  Nicknamed, the “cuddling hormone,” oxytocin makes us feel a strong connection and bond with our lover.

Then there are endorphins.  Endorphins are a group of neurotransmitters formed within the body that bind to opiate receptor sites in your brain to naturally relieve pain.  Endorphins do it all and are like the icing on the cake – they lower stress, boost confidence, produce feelings of euphoria and pleasure, in addition to making us feel calm and relaxed, providing an overall sense of well-being.  But endorphins are also released by our brains during any exhilarating activity we do – such as skydiving or a sporting event - by getting our adrenaline pumping at full speed making morning sex a great way to start the day.
