Your Hormones Could Be Making You Tired
Do you feel tired all the time? Well this could that you simply need more sleep but it could also be an indication that you have Adrenal Fatigue. This is a collection of signs and symptoms that mean your adrenal glands aren't working properly due to chronic stress.
The initial symptoms can be very subtle that you might even miss them.
Your adrenal glands are the endocrine glands located directly above the kidneys. They work to produce a hormone called cortisol or also known as the stress hormone. This hormone is single-handedly responsible for moving stored glucose from fat and providing the body with energy. Around 6am your body will release a jolt of cortisol and another around Noon to power you through the day followed by a smaller one mid-afternoon and a tiny one around dinner. In a 24-hour period, this should be all your body releases.
But with bad lifestyle choices, poor eating habits and lack of physical exercise, cortisol production can be thrown off this regular schedule. You can start to see a complete reversal of the norm which is little to no cortisol throughout the day. This will lead to the feeling of hungover and lethargic but then a larger surge at night keeping you up in the early hours of the morning.
