7 Food to Help Fight Cancer

Cancer is a deadly disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body. Types of cancer include cancer of lungs, blood, breast cancer, prostate cancer, stomach cancer, kidney cancer, bone cancer, anal cancer, gallbladder cancer, skin cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, salivary cancer and cervical cancer.

1.      Dark Green Leafy Vegetables

a.      Dark green leafy vegetables such as mustard greens, lettuce, kale, chicory, spinach, chard contains an abundance of fiber, folate and carotenoids that help protect the body against cancer of the mouth, larynx, pancreas, lung, skin and stomach. 

b.      Spinach is one of the healthiest foods on earth and it’s also a great cancer-fighter as well. It’s so nutrient dense that you don’t have to eat a lot of it to get all of the benefits you need.

c.       You can also easily blend it into a smoothie, add extra water and a lot of phytonutrients, and turning the smoothie green.

d.      The more spinach you eat on a regular basis, lower chance of getting cancer across the board.

e.      It’s important not to eat a ton of it one day, and then go a week without it. Focus on consistently eating smaller portions more often.

 

2.      Beans

a.      Beans hold a few powerful phytochemicals that protects the body’s cells against harm that can prompt cancer. 

b.      Dry beans and peas are rich in fiber (20% of Daily Value) and a good source of protein.

c.       Excellent source of folate and vitamin B. Foods containing folate help reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer probably because of folate’s role in healthy cell division and repair of damaged cells. 

d.      Add a half-cup of legumes that have been soaked a few times a week either from a canned or dry beans and cook to your usual rotation of greens or other veggies.

e.      Both white and red beans are practically good and helps in fighting or protecting the body against cancer

 

3.      Berries

a.      Raspberries and berries in general are loaded with antioxidants, and they help to reduce the amount of free radical damage done to the body.

b.      This helps to provide anti-inflammatory support which in turn helps to prevent cancer and helps the body heal itself, stay youthful, and have more energy.

c.        Berries are wonderful source of Vitamin C, most berries also contain antioxidants.

d.      These antioxidants protect the body from cell damage that could lead to skin cancer, as well as cancers of the bladder, lung, breast and esophagus (the tube where food travels from the throat to the stomach).
